Do you have a BFA? Is it in Photography? Or maybe you studied another form of studio art to get that wonderful extra letter! But just because you have that beautiful extra letter on your Diploma, doesn't mean that you know everything that there is to know about your craft. You should never stop trying to learn more about your craft or how to be the best at it! There are many resources out there that you can take advantage of, some that are free and some that may have a small fee, today I want to focus on some of my favorite learning resources.
Phlearn : This is an amazing channel that not only helps teach new techniques, but also simpler ways to execute tried and true methods. Not everything is free, but they do run contests all throughout the year, giving away many of their videos and stock image resources, so don't be afraid to contribute!
AdoramaTV : A YouTube channel created by the site Adorama(a great place to buy tech and printing), another channel that really helps shape your knowledge and style.
DigitalRevTV : A Channel that I am new to, but it has a lot of information, from reviews to tutorials. They don't just use DSLRs either, the cameras that they use will stretch from your basic camera phone to DSLRs to more specialized tech! Even if interested in the topic of photography, it is definitely something you should check out! (My favorite series is "Professional Photographer, Cheap Camera")
Cole's Classroom : An amazing Wedding Photographer, who offers tutorials, lessons, and lightroom presets. He sends some emails if you sign up for the newsletter, including dates of live streams and events they are having! An great place to stop by, even if just for the presets!
PetaPixel : This site is more then just a blog, they post new, gear reviews, tutorials, and a podcast(if you love to listen to them!). If you want one main site to visit, this should be the one!
PhotoNet : A great resource for photographer by photographers, like most sites there are reviews, but unlike the other sites, there is a classified section, where you can look to buy tech! They also have a blog and the run contests! (don't be afraid to enter even if you are unsure!)
These are just a few recourses that I love to visit from time to time to grow my own knowledge, because I don't know everything. If there are any other site that you can think of, please leave a comment and let me know! I am always looking for new places to grow my own knowledge.
