Happy Birthday Revival Brewing Co.
The tasting room on Atwood Ave is a cozy affair, held together with all the doodles, games, tunes that are necessary for a closely knit team to make phenomenal brews and share them with the world. Revival Brewing Co. has worked hard to shape their brand into a staple of the community. With brewing roots from the 90s, the passion for flavor and experimentation has grown into five years of the Revival family— and their first year at this location in Cranston. Revival’s Anniversary Party was a testament to the welcoming good vibes and fun that’s ever-present in the tasting room. We were happy to see a packed house of the people who’ve supported Revival over the past five years. In fact, we all got to support them four times throughout the night; excellently paired with Laughing Gorilla, D’Licious Desserts, and PVDonuts.
We relaxed, got to meet some fun people, and tasted the brews we’ve come to know— as well as a few new ones. I’ve always been a fan of the Conga Imperial IPA… but then again I’m very much a pale ale kind of person. Being more adventurous, I decided to give sour beers another chance and sampled Up Ship Kriek. If you’ve not ever thought a sour beer would be something you’d like, I’d persuade you to give Kriek a chance. The robust profile makes it an interesting, if not pleasantly surprising experience. Not being a stout fan at all, I tend to shy away from them. That said, the White Electric Stout was smooth enough for me to have ordered seconds. Revival has an exceptional quality to their brews; where they are each unique and complex in their own ways, while balanced enough to make you re-think any preconceived opinion you have on a specific type of beer. Craft beers are steadily becoming a phenomenon, and Rhode Island certainly has a rich community and history of brewers. Revival produces some great beer I’d gladly recommend to anyone— particularly the newly revealed You Thirsty? IPA. They throw a great party, and the tasting room is always worth the trip. :D
Revival Brewing Co. has come a long way during the five years since their official inception, but they still maintain a family attitude; every member of the team values having fun and brewing fantastic beer equally.
